This is a collaborative piece Kevin Reiswig and I made for our joint show Treeisms. For this show, we both focused on branch forms, Kevin completing the circle by turning salvaged wood destined for the landfill back into branch forms, and I transforming salvaged branches into improbable objects, inviting viewers to connect with the wonder and near impossibility of nature.
For this collaboration, I selected a few madrona branches I wanted to work with, Kevin picked one and created a twin from salvaged maple and walnut. He then returned both to me, and I carved the madrona branch in response to his sculpture.
These are sold as a pair. Dimensions are for how they are set up in the first image, part of the joy is setting them up in various relationships.
